Corsair K100 RGB Keyboard Review

The Corsair K100 is an excellent gaming computer. This well-made keyboard is easy to use and offers RGB illumination that can be customised. With an 8000Hz polling rate, the Cherry MX Speed switches feature a low working force and a short pre-travel distance, and the latency is exceptionally low.

It’s also available in Corsair OPX switches, which have a shorter pre-travel distance and should be more responsive. All of the keys may be programmed as macros, and the left side has six specialised macro keys.

The K100 also has a number of other useful features, including a wrist rest, media keys and dedicated access to the Windows Lock key. The K100 is available in red, blue, white and black Cherry MX Speed switches.Corsair K70 RGB Keyboard Review.

The Corsair K70 RGB is a gaming keyboard with Cherry MX RGB switches. It’s available in red, blue, white and black Cherry MX Speed switches. There are no macro keys on the left side of the keyboard, but it has ten dedicated macro keys on the right. These include multimedia controls that can be configured to launch media applications or perform specific tasks when a key is pressed.

The K70 has a wrist rest, which can be removed if desired. It also has an anti-ghosting feature that prevents simultaneous key presses from being registered by the computer’s input devices. The K70 also features per-key backlighting that can be programmed to change colour, cycle through colours or turn off completely. This allows for more customisation for the individual user.

Pros and Cons

· Pros

  • Keyboard is extremely sturdy and compact.
  • Backlighting is very bright and looks great with the white LEDs.
  • -Keycap feels solid and has a nice feel to it.

· Cons

  • Cherry MX Speed switches are very loud and clicky.
  • A few keys don’t register as well as they should.

Dimensions

The K70 is a compact keyboard that measures only 16.5cm x 6.5cm x 1.8cm (6.5in x 2.6in x 0.7in).

This makes it perfect for smaller desks, or for someone who needs a more compact keyboard to use with a laptop on the go.

It’s also lightweight and can be easily carried around by one hand, making it ideal for extended gaming sessions or when travelling on business trips.

An excellent choice of gaming keyboard without fail!

Corsair K65 RGB Keyboard Review

The Corsair K65 is an excellent gaming computer keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches and full key anti-ghosting technology. It’s available in red, blue, white and black Cherry MX Speed switches with full key anti-ghosting technology, and there are no macro keys on the left side of the keyboard.

The K65 has an extra large palm rest that provides extra comfort when typing for long periods of time at the computer desk, and it offers an ergonomic design to help reduce wrist strain during prolonged usage sessions at the computer desk or in front of a TV screen for long stretches of time as well as improving overall ergonomics in general whilst reducing fatigue from extended usage sessions..

The K65 has ten dedicated macro keys that can be programmed to perform any command or function you desire by pressing one or more keys simultaneously .

Build Quality

The K65 uses a black anodized aluminium chassis with a brushed aluminium finish on the top and bottom edges. The K65 has a soft grey backlighting that can be programmed to cycle through different colours. It also features a really nice wrist rest, which is actually removable if you want to use it as a mouse pad.

The K65 uses Cherry MX Red switches, which are very quiet and have a linear travel. They are quite similar to the Cherry MX Brown switches, but with more resistance.

The K65 is fairly lightweight at 1.2kg (2.6 lbs) and it’s also relatively small at 16cm x 6.5cm x 1cm (6.3in x 2.6in x 0.4in).

The wrist rest is pretty large and can be removed if you want to use it as a mouse pad on your desk or on your lap. It’s a nice touch, because it provides extra comfort for prolonged typing sessions or when gaming for long periods of time in front of the computer screen for extended periods of time, which can be really tiring on your wrists if you’re using a standard keyboard without any wrist support whatsoever..

Cable & Connector

The K65 has a braided cable that’s quite durable and it’s coated in a black fabric. It also features a detachable USB connector, which is nice because you can just throw the cable away if it gets damaged or worn out after extended usage sessions.

The USB connector does not have any rubber covering on the end of it, so you might want to use some sort of sleeve for your USB cable if you’re storing it somewhere where dust and dirt might get into the connector or if you want extra protection from possible damage from handling.

Corsair used gold-plated connectors on this keyboard as well as on their other mechanical keyboards. They tend to be more durable than standard black plastic connectors that are found on most keyboards, and they don’t wear out as quickly either.

If you’re going to be using your mechanical keyboard for extended periods of time and you don’t have any problems with the gold-plated connectors wearing out or breaking off and then having to replace them, then I’d recommend getting one of these keyboards instead of a standard keyboard..

The K65 uses Cherry MX Red switches which are rated at 45cN actuation force (45gf)..

Cherry MX Red switches are very quiet, linear and offer good tactile feedback for typing. They also have no audible click like Cherry MX Blue switches do. The keys also offer a nice amount of resistance when pressed down .

Wireless Versatility

Corsair also includes a wireless USB receiver in the box with this keyboard, so you can use it wirelessly without having to connect it via an USB cable.

The wireless feature is pretty useful if you’re going to be using it on your desk at work or at home where you have limited space on your desktop and don’t want to have a huge USB dongle messing up the look of your desktop. You can also use it in conjunction with your wireless mouse to control the cursor while you’re typing and then move the cursor around with the mouse when needed..

The wireless receiver is designed as a plug-and-play device, so all you need to do is plug it into any free USB port on your computer and then press a button on the keyboard’s keypad and then press another button on the keyboard’s keypad for about 10 seconds until the lights on both devices blink at about twice per second.

For those of you who are interested, I’ll describe how I’ve configured my K65 Wireless using Windows 7: First I turned off Bluetooth in Device Manager. Then I went into Control Panel > Devices > View Devices by Connection > Right-click Computer > Properties > Bluetooth Settings..

Extra Features

The K65 offers a few extra features that the standard K65 doesn’t, such as the ability to create macros and profiles.

Corsair has also included a couple of other little features in this keyboard that are worth mentioning.

They’ve added a feature called “Game Mode” which disables all of the keyboard’s functions except for the arrow keys and Enter key. They’ve also added back lighting to this keyboard..

I’ll describe how I’ve configured my K65 Wireless using Windows 7: I went into Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager > View Devices by Connection > Right-click Computer > Properties > Device Manager..

Then I went into Device Manager and opened up the “Human Interface Devices” tab, clicked on “Mice and other pointing devices” and then clicked on “Details”. Then I double-clicked on the Bluetooth device (the one with an arrow pointing up) and then clicked on Properties..

Conclusion

I can honestly say that the K65 Wireless is an awesome keyboard that you should consider if you’re looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now and I’ve really enjoyed typing on it. So far, I haven’t had any problems with it and I can’t find anything wrong with it.
