Innocn 15k1f Review

If you need a second monitor or a display when away from your workstation, the Innocn 15k1f is a great option. In terms of colour and contrast, the 1080p full-HD OLED display delivers remarkable results. A fantastic all-rounder.

When we think about portable displays, we generally think of cheap-looking and feeling gadgets that have poor colour representation and can only be used for the most basic of activities.

The Innocn 15k1f is a full-HD, OLED, 15.6-inch portable monitor that outperforms a number of its rivals. The gadget, which costs $419.99, is a good choice if you want a high-quality display that you can carry with you everywhere you go and that meets a variety of demands.

Let’s take a closer look at this incredible display, and we’ll be giving one away at the conclusion of this review to one lucky reader!

Crafted Construction Carefully

When you pull the Innocn 15k1f out of the box, one of the first things that hits you is the amount of workmanship that has gone into the gadget. It has a really professional appearance and feel to it. Plus, with total dimensions (without case) of 14.2 x 9.2 x 0.2 inches and a weight of only 1.6 pounds, this is one portable monitor.

The matte coating on the aluminium metal casing, which comes in a beautiful copper-brown shade, adds to the sleekness of the design. The Innocn logo is located at the bottom of the screen, in the centre.

The controls are located in the upper right corner. The power button is on the top edge of the monitor’s corner, and the LED indicator is to the right of it, indicating when the device is receiving power and in operation.

Some indescript up and down keys are located on the right side of the monitor’s corner. Each key has a variety of functions, which we’ll go over in the next section.

The stereo speakers, denoted by the holes punched in the sides for sound escape, are located in the middle of both the left and right borders.

How Easy Is Operating Innocn 15k1f?

Given that we’re dealing with a portable monitor, the procedure is straightforward. Long-pressing the power button for three seconds turns the device on and off, whereas a single click while running the display enters the OSD menu and, once there, sub-menus.

While in the OSD menu, a one-second press-and-hold of the power button will leave the current option/sub-menu.The up key raises loudness or advances the menu left in the OSD menu, increasing any user-operated progress bar (like turning brightness up, for example).

The down key lowers the volume or, if you’re in the OSD menu, shifts the menu items to the right and lowers any user-operated progress bar (like turning the contrast down).

The LED indication makes it easier to operate. The screen is operational when it is lighted blue. The screen is turned off and the colour is orange. As you might anticipate, the room is dark and the electricity is turned off.The OSD is easy to use, and you can access a lot of adjustable options from here.

You may modify your brightness, contrast, and volume from the Home screen, as well as access additional menus. You can build up to six separate screen profiles in the Profiles menu, so you might have one for gaming and one for reading an eBook. You have the Color Temperature option, which allows you to change RGB values.

Perfect Picture Performance

Then it’s time for the show. When it comes to portable screens, I must admit that I am always sceptical. I frequently find them wanting in one or more areas, especially when they promise to be excellent for gaming.

Is the Innocn 15k1f a decent gaming laptop? What about additional uses, such as reading, viewing movies, or using it as a display for graphics programmes like Photoshop?

I connected the display to my laptop and logged into my Game Pass account to see how well it was at gaming. That was my first port of call, knowing that No Man’s Sky is an exceptionally beautiful and complex game. Here, the OLED screen truly shines.

The colour contrast (which, let’s be honest, is quite insane in No Man’s Sky) is well rendered (to the point that my explanatory image can’t do it justice).

Another quality of NMS’ visuals is brightness, which the Innocn’s OLED screen handles admirably. Because to the 60Hz refresh rate, there is almost little motion blur and no visible stuttering.

Some gamers may not consider the 15k1f a feasible option when 120Hz refresh rates become the norm, but keep in mind that this is a portable monitor, not your massive gaming monitor (Innocn has a rather meaty 4K desktop display, too).

Should You Buy the Innocn 15k1f?

Yes, you must. If you don’t need a 4K monitor but still want great image quality, the 15k1f is the perfect portable companion. It’s compact and light enough to carry anywhere with you, and if you travel with your Series S, as this writer does, you can game pretty much anyplace!

With its powers as a screen for graphic design apps and its movie-watching prowess, we have a fantastic all-around tablet that outperforms its competition.

But are you going to use this gadget to blast audio? Unlikely. If you do, you’ll be listening to music through your gaming headset, headphones, or external speakers, so this objection is irrelevant. A portable monitor’s speakers won’t deliver a cinematic sound experience, but you shouldn’t expect them to.

Another small niggle is the high-gloss, high-reflective screen. In well-lit environments, finding an angle where light doesn’t bounce off it might be tricky. However, if you sit in front of the monitor for long enough (which you probably will), a sea of vibrant colour washes away those reflections, boosted by the 400nit screen brightness.

It’s one of the most polished and feature-rich portable Full-HD displays available. It has a brilliant matte surface surrounded by a small bezel that makes reading text or other productivity chores a breeze It has a lot of connectors, including two USB-C ports that let you to connect it to a gaming console or other device while keeping it powered.

Even with its useful kickstand cover attached, which has a gripping feel and connects with magnets to help lifetime, this is one of the thinnest and lightest portable monitors available.

Some might argue that the design is a little drab, but the lack of logos could be seen as a plus.
